Foundation Degree in Interactive Design
Jakob Allen, currently studying toward the FdA in Interactive Design, progressed to the Foundation Degree after completing a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Interactive Media. Jakob studied the Level 3 in NRC’s Ballymoney campus 2012 to 2014, graduating with an impressive D*D*D grade. Before this, Jakob studied at Coleraine Academical Institution securing 7 GCSEs. Jakob told us that he chose the FdA instead of a university degree as this seemed a smoother progression and that he felt more comfortable knowing the college, the tutors and support mechanisms available. “Being interested in motion graphics and graphic design, I chose the FdA as it delivered this content. I have also discovered an interest in the history of art & design through lectures and practical sessions in class” says Jakob. Course Director Robert Wilsdon said “Jakob is a great asset to the class. He is very keen, works exceptionally well with others and has brought a real creative flair to the class, exactly what the interactive design industry needs”.
