Course Aims

This course is ideal for those who wish to pursue technical and professional careers in the Built Environment such as Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Construction and Project Management and Building. It is also suitable for those already in related employment who wish to improve their qualifications. The course content includes Construction Technology, An introduction to Building Information Modelling (BIM), Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Building and Site Surveying, Building Design and the Development Process.

The course content and title may be revised to reflect local industry need and practice. Further details will be published on the college website on completion of the revalidation process.

All applications must satisfy the general entry requirements as indicated below: Grade C or above in GCSE English Language and Mathematics (or equivalent); And Applicants must have a minimum of the equivalent to 48 UCAS tariff points such as One GCE A' Level with at least 4 GCSE grades at C or above A BTEC Extended Diploma or Another qualification deemed to be appropriate by the admissions tutor; or Mature students may be accepted on the basis of their general education and industry experience. Final selection will be by interview. In circumstances where there are more applications for the course than there are places available, the college reserves the right to select candidates from those achieving the highest grades.
