There will be additional membership fees paid directly to CIPD. Candidates with an existing CIPD qualification may already have membership but candidates will be subject to a joining fee. Please refer to the www.cipd.co.uk website for further information in relation to fees. All fees are set in accordance with DfE regulations.
CIPD Intermediate Certificate offers the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required by human resource professionals. The programme provides learners with the necessary understanding of human resource management within the broader business environment to further develop their HR career.
The Level 5 Certificate is suitable for those who have progressed from a Level 3 in Human Resource Practice and/or candidates that have suitable/relevant experience within human resources.
To complete the Intermediate Certificate in Human Resource Management you must complete the following 6 units:
- Developing Professional Practice
- Business Issues and the Contexts of Human Resources
- Using information in Human Resources
- Reward Management
- Resourcing and Talent Planning
- Developing Leadership and Management Skills
A range of assessment methods drawn from the CIPD National Assessment Bank will be utilised. Assessments required for each unit which will be organisational and HR related.
Intermediate qualifications are suitable for those who seek to develop a career in HR management and development; are working in the field of HR management and development and need to extend their knowledge and skills; have responsibility for implementing HR policies and strategies; need to understand the role of HR in the wider organisational and environmental context. It is recommended that students hold the Level 3 Diploma in Human Resource Practice.
The Intermediate Certificate in Human Resource Management provides an opportunity to gain a professional level of CIPD membership through becoming an Associate member on successful completion of the programme. Learners may progress to other CIPD qualifications at Level 7 (currently not offered at the College) and be able to progress their career path upwards.
