Course Content

The Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management course is designed for practising and aspiring managers, helping them to develop their skills and experience and improve performance in their workplace. The emphasis on this course is allowing each manager to identify what specific skills they need to make them a better manager. Therefore, the students choose a range of useful skills which can include Continuous Professional Development, Leadership Skills, Building Effective Teams, etc. It is an internationally recognised professional qualification in management from the UK’s foremost leadership and management qualifications body, the Institute of Leadership and Management.

Throughout your qualification you will be supported by tutors who have up-to-date management experience and qualifications and an indepth knowledge of the third level education.  This will be supplemented with access to a range of relevant online management and leadership materials through our e-learning portal, Moodle.  The course is delivered in a variety of ways which blend in class learning with multimedia presentations and online learning.

Applicants will normally be either practising or aspiring managers with the opportunity to meet the assessment demands, have a level 3 Certificate in Management or equivalent and have a background in business that will enable them to benefit from the programme.

Where mature students wish to have prior education and/or experience taken into account, in lieu of meeting the full course entry requirements, they should contact the relevant Course Director by 13th August, as an application deadline will apply.

Successful candidates may progress to further qualifications, such as the HNC in Business, or another qualification at a suitable level, within the National Qualifications Framework. Although there are no formal educational requirements, participants will normally be either existing or aspiring managers.
