Training & Apprenticeships
ApprenticeshipsNI is a Northern Ireland work–based programme funded by the Department for Employment and Learning (DEL) and part financed by the European Union Social Fund. It is available to both existing and newly recruited PAID employees aged 16 plus. At NRC apprenticeships at Level 2 and/or Level 3 are offered in a diverse range of vocational areas.
If you are a new or existing employee who has moved into a new or changed job role and you need to learn new skills, then ApprenticeshipsNI could be the right choice for you.
The opportunity to work and earn, develop and learn and gain nationally recognised industry qualifications is what ApprenticeshipsNI are all about.
For those aged under 25 years, the Department for Employment and Learning undertakes to pay the full costs of the ‘off-the-job’ training included in the ApprenticeshipsNI framework for the duration of the apprenticeship and contribute 50% of funding for those aged 25 years and over.
As part of the Training programmes, students are required to undertake a vocational work placement for at least two days per week and block work placements. A work placement provides the trainee with invaluable experience to enhance the professional and technical skills taught in the College. If you are interested in providing a work placement or would like to register your interest, visit our Employers section for further details, or contact the Training Manager directly.Download our Parent/Guardian/Carer Guide to Work Based Learning
