Northern Regional College is hosting Inter Campus Competitions in the Construction Trades on Monday 18th January 2010. This one day competition brings together construction apprentices from across the college campuses. The apprentices will be competing to complete a competition test piece in their trade craft. The apprentices are competing in the following eight trade areas: The introduction of the College inter campus competitions is designed to develop personal skills and improve competition standards. The winners from the inter college competition will automatically qualify to compete in the Skillbuild NI annual two day competition. Skillbuild competitions are high on the agenda of the Department for the Employment and Learning. It is well recognised that these competitions play a key part in lifting standards and performance while promoting and embedding world class skills into the workplace. Northern Regional College, its staff and apprentice students, is proud to be involved in the inter campus competitions working along side Skillbuild NI, in providing opportunities for apprentices to develop their skills and techniques in the construction trades. |
