College Meets Local Training Needs |

The Driver and Vehicle Agency (DVA) in Belfast held a presentation for staff who completed their OCR NVQ Level 3 in Business & Administration. The successful candidates were Kelly Colville, Stacey Gallagher, Mervyn Williamson, Patarick McClean, Francis Woods, Jordan McCarley. The training was facilitated by Eileen McGuigan from the Faculty of Business and Management at the Northern Regional College, Newtownabbey. This was an intensive course delivered over six months with six full day training sessions and twelve assessment visits all on DVA premises. David Wilson, Group Director DVA in congratulating his staff stated that “This is a wonderful achievement for DVA staff, which reflects the organisations dedication to providing training that ultimately benefits our services to customers. We recognise the hard work and commitment by the staff who have achieved their qualification.” Sam Bell Head of faculty for Business & Management at NRC said “We are delighted to be involved with this training with DVA. One of the College’s strategic aims is to work collaboratively with local employers, both public and private sector and to serve their needs. We are celebrating the outcome of training where employees gain skills and qualifications in a flexible way, while they continue at work, for the benefit of the individuals, their employer and the economy. I would also like to acknowledge the commitment of all levels of Management at DVA for their continued investment in training for staff.” The event was attended by representatives from both the College and the Agency and the Certificates were presented to the successful candidates by DVA Trainer Eilish Tosh. |
