Northern Regional College is now recruiting for the Prince’s Trust Team programme at the colleges Ballymena, Coleraine and Newtownabbey Campuses.  The course which commences on Monday 20th February is open to all young people aged 16-25 years, who are not currently in full-time education, training or employment.

This exciting and challenging programme offers young people the opportunity to obtain a City & Guilds Level 1 Certificate in Personal Development & Contributing to the Community qualification. This course commences on the 26th September and runs over a twelve week period. No previous education or experience is necessary.

Students on the programme will participate in outdoor pursuits, team building projects, planning and community projects, have the opportunity to gain experience within a work placement, develop their skills in preparing CV’s, job applications, interview skills and obtain career advice.

Course Co-ordinators for the Prince’s Trust programme Suzanne Marshall and Gerry Drake at the college state that “This is an excellent programme for young people to consider, if they are not currently in full-time employment, training or education. The course is free to the student and it does not affect a young person’s benefits. We ensure that the programme is delivered in a fun and interactive way, while challenging at the same time”.

They added that “Participants of this course will learn new skills and will gain increased confidence, motivation and other employability skills while working towards a nationally recognised qualification”.
