College placements open door to career opportunities

Wednesday

Many students who completed work placements as part of their course at Northern Regional College have gone on to secure employment with their placement company. Daniel Wieczorek from Ballymena did a Foundation Degree in Applied and Medical Science at the Northern Regional College’s Newtownabbey campus. During a Work Based Learning placement with County Antrim medical diagnostics manufacturer and distributor, Daniel impressed his employer and was offered a position in the company’s research and development laboratory. He is currently working there on a part-time basis while he completes a degree in Biomedical Science at Ulster University.

Northern Regional College’s Newtownabbey campus will hold an Open Day on Wednesday 6 February from 4pm to 8pm, and on Saturday 9 February from 10am to 1pm. Open Days are a great opportunity to visit the College and find out more about the courses and facilities on offer. Information will be available on Training/Apprenticeships, GCSE equivalent courses (Level 2 BTEC Diploma) and A Level equivalent courses (Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma), as well as higher education courses including Foundation Degrees and Higher Level Apprenticeships. Staff are available to provide advice and guidance on student finance, education support, careers and the online application process.
