SUCCESS FOR COLERAINE IT STUDENT

Friday

Jonathan Scott, a Level 3 IT student at the Coleraine campus, has qualified for the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) national finals and a chance to compete for a coveted place in the World Championships. The MOS Championship is a global competition that tests students’ skills on Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Powerpoint applications.

As one of four students from Northern Ireland to prove his mastery of Excel, Jonathan has been invited to join other top performing students at the national finals in Dublin next month.

Congratulating Jonathan on his success in the competition, Jim Nelson, head of computing, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Jonathan and a great addition to have on his CV.”

Jonathan is the second Northern Regional College student to reach the national finals, Last year, Amy Chan, an IT student at the College in Ballymena, excelled in Powerpoint to make it through to the finals.
