As someone with experience as a Primary School Teacher, Early Years Tutor and Assessor, as well as working as a Programme Lead and Lecturer in Early Years, I bring both practical and academic knowledge to my teaching. Students benefit from real classroom experience, including practical strategies, behaviour management approaches, and a clear understanding of the curriculum. I can share up-to-date industry knowledge and expectations within the Early Years and Primary sectors, ensuring that learning is relevant and aligned with current practice. My experience in assessment also enables me to guide students effectively in meeting professional standards, developing reflective practice, and successfully completing both academic and placement requirements. Most memorable moment at Northern Regional College:
One of the most memorable moments of my time at Northern Regional College was being offered the role of Programme Lead for the Early Childhood Studies Foundation Degree in Newtownabbey. Leading my first year of students into Stranmillis University and seeing them achieve their grades was incredibly rewarding. It was a real joy to support their growth and celebrate their successes alongside the dedicated Newtownabbey team, whose guidance and commitment made this possible. That year remains a proud and inspiring milestone, reminding me of the impact we can have in shaping the next generation of early years professionals.
