We are incredibly grateful to the Galgorm Collection for their warm welcome and continued support of Northern Regional College’s Bright Futures Programme. Funded by the Department for the Economy NI Skills Fund and aligned with the Minister’s Economic Vision, Bright Futures is designed to empower students with additional needs—individuals who deserve greater access to opportunities and clear pathways into employment.

Recently, two cohorts of students completing their qualification at Carrickfergus Enterprise and Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council Forum had the opportunity to visit The Rabbit Hotel & Retreat. This visit provided an invaluable behind-the-scenes insight into the hospitality industry. Students learned about the hotel’s high-quality services, explored potential career pathways, and, most importantly, felt inspired and motivated about their future.

Employer engagement of this kind is vital. It allows students to see firsthand what local businesses can offer and helps bridge the gap between education and employment.

What Bright Futures offers:

The programme delivers the OCN Level 1 Award in Vocational Studies, covering Promoting Self-Improvement, Exploring Employment Opportunities, and Employment Opportunities within the Hospitality Industry. Bright Futures is already making a real difference—building confidence, supporting access to qualifications, and opening doors to job opportunities.
