Candidates must have completed 2 years in a mechanical/electrical engineering based further education course and have attained GCSE or equivalent grades. They must also have the ability to use a variety of hand tools, capable of MIG/Arc/TIG Welding, be computer literate in Word and Excel, have a high degree of initiative and safety awareness, the ability to prioritise workloads, respond quickly to emergencies and creative problem-solving skills. The job will also require candidates to be flexible with regards working hours for opposing shifts holiday cover or planned maintenance and attend college 1 day per week as per apprenticeship.
