Dr Alistair Quinn - Business Engagement Manager

A keen advocate of design-driven innovation, Alistair has spent his career working at the interface between industry and academia, supporting businesses to improve their levels of innovation and drive economic growth.  Holding a Masters Degree in Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering from Queen’s University Belfast and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Ulster University, Alistair has worked across a range of disciplines including Automotive, Biomedical and Green Tech, utilising his strengths to foster collaboration and build strategic partnerships.

Developing a strong interest in Project and Programme Management, Alistair has successfully developed and delivered a wide range of projects including a multi-million pound industry-led Research & Innovation programme.  In this regard, he holds numerous Management & Leadership qualifications up to and including at Level 7 alongside PRINCE2 certification.  Alistair is also recognised as a Chartered Manager through the Chartered Management Institute.

As Business Engagement Manager, Alistair is working to deliver Northern Regional College’s aim of developing strong relationships with the local industry base, councils and Chambers of Commerce in order to develop an appropriate skills pipeline to support the local labour market.  Investment in skills and talent, with a focus on innovation, acts as a key pillar of the economic vision for Northern Ireland over the next decade and beyond.
