Marie Donaghy - Business Engagement Officer
Marie has 25 years’ experience in the Education & Training Sector, working in managerial roles across a range of training organisations. Roles focused on creating access to training opportunities and delivery of reskilling initiatives through EU and Departmental funding. Marie has experience in delivery and management of multiple funded programmes/ department contracts: New Deal, European Peace funding, Department of Health funding, National Lottery Community funding, Schools partnership delivery. Marie also has extensive experience submitting successful funding applications & tenders to various organisations and leading Community partnership initiatives.
Marie joined Northern Regional College in 2010 and has since managed a number of externally funded projects. She has also have been involved in schools and community partnerships as well as being an Assistant Head of Department, supporting our counselling team. In her current role, the Causeway Coast & Glens Council Area falls within Marie’s remit, building relationships with stakeholders, councils, enterprise agencies and Invest NI. Marie meets local businesses to discuss their training needs and implement solutions, as well as liaising with curriculum staff to develop new qualifications that meet industry needs.
Marie graduated with a BSc Hons Degree in Occupational Psychology and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Careers Guidance as well as a Postgraduate Diploma Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Marie also holds her CMI Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership as well as a QUB Certificate in the Teaching & Management of Lifelong Learning. Marie is a member of the British Association of Counselling Professionals, a qualified CBT therapist and an Associate Member of the CIPD.
Marie likes to relax with coastal walks and Pilates.
