This course develops understanding of CNC machining techniques and material removal strategies used in producing engineered components. It focuses on 3-axis CNC milling with Siemens control systems, while introducing 5-axis machining principles. Participants gain practical knowledge of machine operation, setup, tooling selection, work holding, and precision manufacturing processes. Key topics include operation sequencing, CNC program interpretation, safety, and machining strategies for various engineering materials.
Ideal as a leisure course, it suits individuals seeking to build CNC skills, increase confidence in a machining environment, or enhance their capabilities in modern manufacturing techniques.
Training takes place in the state-of-the-art workshops at the College, equipped with modern CNC machinery, industry-standard Siemens controls, and advanced tooling systems. Learners benefit from a professional environment that mirrors real manufacturing settings, supporting hands-on experience, safe practice, and exposure to current technologies used across the engineering sector.
