Course Content
Learn the fundamentals of 3D CAD using industry-standard SolidWorks software.
This practical evening course is ideal for beginners who want to learn how to create 3D models, assemblies and technical drawings using SolidWorks. Through guided tutorials and hands-on exercises, you will develop the core skills needed to design mechanical components and simple products.
You will learn to:
- Navigate the SolidWorks interface confidently
- Create fully defined sketches using dimensions and constraints
- Build 3D parts using features such as extrude, revolve, fillet and shell
- Assemble multiple parts using mates and constraints
- Produce clear engineering drawings from your models
- You must be at least 16 years of age on or before 1 July in the year of proposed entry to the course
- No prior CAD experience required.
