Job Title: Lecturer in Engineering

Department: Advanced Technologies

Previous Roles/Industry Experience: Maintenance Engineer at a pharmaceutical company

Benefits of learning from an industry expert: As a team we understand the specific skills required for jobs within our industry. We use personal examples and mirror machinery used in industry in our courses. Our students are trained on the same machines they will be using when they join the workforce therefore they will have good industry specific knowledge and experience giving them that competitive edge in an interview process.

Tell us why students should study your course/subject area at Northern Regional College:  An engineer is a problem solver. Engineers use their knowledge to provide solutions to complex situations. If you are creative, like problem solving and exploring solutions this could be the career path for you. We use the latest equipment to meet industry standards to ensure up-to date training and expertise on our courses.

Most rewarding part of your job: I like seeing students achieve and move to their desired next step. Whether it be to University or the workplace seeing a student excited about the next stage and helping them get there is great.

Most memorable moment at Northern Regional College: I enjoy when students return to the College as guest speakers to share their experiences with our new students of where they work now and where engineering has taken them.
