The materials, including Marshall Tufflex PVC conduit, trunking, and Odyssey data trunking which is also installed throughout NRC Ballymena, along with Lewden consumer units, RCBOs, and ATEX products, will be used across NRC’s Newtownabbey and Ballymena campuses. These materials will play a key role in enhancing practical workshops and hands-on training for students enrolled in electrical installation programmes.
NRC’s new Ballymena campus, which opened in October 2025, is already incorporating some of the donated materials into its teaching and installation practice, helping students gain experience with industry-standard products from day one.
This collaboration highlights the value of strong industry partnerships in enriching student learning experiences and demonstrates both Northern Regional College’s and Core Electrical’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility within the region’s education and trade sectors.
Iain McCart, Lecturer in Electrical Installation at Northern Regional College, welcomed the donation:
“We are extremely grateful to Core Electrical for their continued support. Access to high-quality, industry-standard materials is vital in preparing our students for the realities of work in the electrical sector. Partnerships like this ensure we can deliver outstanding, real-world learning experiences that benefit both our students and the wider industry.”
Gareth Bradford, Core Belfast Hub Manager at Core Electrical Group, added:
“Core Electrical is committed to supporting the future workforce of our industry. By donating sustainable, industry-approved materials to Northern Regional College, we’re helping students gain hands-on experience with the products and systems they will use throughout their careers. We are proud to play a role in developing Northern Ireland’s next cohort of highly skilled electricians.”
Northern Regional College continues to work closely with employers and industry partners to ensure its training programmes meet modern workplace standards and contribute to a skilled, future-ready workforce.
