Northern Regional College Celebrates Staff Achievement At Annual Awards Ceremony

Monday

Northern Regional College celebrated the dedication, talent and impact of its staff at the annual Staff Awards ceremony, held at the College’s Magherafelt Campus on Friday 30 January. The event brought together colleagues from across curriculum and professional services to recognise individuals and teams who consistently go above and beyond to support students, colleagues and the wider College community. The awards reflect the breadth of work taking place across Northern Regional College and highlight the vital role staff play in delivering high-quality education, training and student support.

Congratulating all the award winners, as well as those nominated, Chair of the Governing Body, Colm McKenna, praised staff for their commitment, teamwork and positive impact across the College. He highlighted the importance of recognising the dedication of colleagues who consistently go above and beyond in their roles, noting that the quality of education and support delivered by staff is central to the College’s ongoing success and reputation. He also acknowledged the strong culture of collaboration evident across campuses and teams, reflected in the volume and standard of nominations received.

Principal and Chief Executive Mel Higgins also paid tribute to staff, highlighting the role they play in creating an inclusive, supportive and ambitious learning environment.

Mel said, “Our staff are at the heart of everything we do at Northern Regional College. Their passion, professionalism and commitment to our students and to each other is evident every day. It is fantastic to see that dedication recognised through these awards and I would like to congratulate all those nominated and celebrated this year.”

The annual Staff Awards provide an important opportunity to pause and recognise the people behind the College’s success, celebrating both individual excellence and collective achievement across campuses and departments.
