A young County Antrim woman who had such a positive learning experience as a student at Northern Regional College is back at the College again for the start of another academic year. This time though she is back, not as a student but as a part-time lecturer. Helena Boyle, who lives in Crumlin said her inspirational lecturers with their enthusiasm for passing on their skills and knowledge to students changed her life.

Studying creative media at Northern Regional College gave a young Belfast woman the necessary skills and experience to secure her first industry job. Last month Holly Strutt was among the thousands of young people across Northern Ireland to receive A level and BTEC results. With a triple Distinction* in her BTEC Level 3 Digital Games Development, which is a vocational course equivalent of three A*s at A level, she landed a job, funded by NI Screen as Trainee Production Co-ordinator at Humain – Digital Humans.

A Northern Regional College bench joinery apprentice employed by Mivan has been named Young Apprentice of the Year 2023. Conor Dallas (25) from Loughguile, County Antrim who is a final year apprentice at the College’s Ballymoney Campus, was among the winners at the prestigious Construction News Specialists gala awards dinner at the Hilton London Metropole.

A part time student at Northern Regional College has been shortlisted for a prestigious CIPD (Chartered Institute of Professional Development) award. CIPD is the professional body for HR and people development. Eimear Duffy, who is originally from Monaghan and now lives in Belfast, has been short-listed for the CIPD NI Best HR Student award, one of the 11 award categories. The winners will be announced at a glittering gala evening in the Titanic Belfast on Thursday 12 October.
