Northern Regional College is working with Northern Health and Social Care Trust (NHSCT) in an innovative partnership to offer paid internships in domiciliary health care. This initiative encompasses a one-year internship and salary of £20,330 (pro rata) and an opportunity to achieve a City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care at Northern Regional College.

Molly Jamison sets her future sights on drama school as she reflects on how she made the “best decision” by leaving school after her GCSEs to complete Northern Regional College’s Performing Arts course. Molly attended Carrickfergus Grammar School prior to studying Level 3 Performing Arts Practice at the College’s Newtownabbey campus and while she loved the academic side of school, she wanted to move somewhere where she would fit in: “That’s exactly what I got at the College. Being on stage gives me confidence and makes me feel safe,” she said.

Applications are invited for the prestigious JP McManus Scholarship scheme which offers students financial support of £5,500 each year for the duration of their undergraduate degree. Hurry, the clock is ticking as applications close at 4pm on Tuesday, August 30. A total of 25 scholarships will be awarded across the two categories: Further Education (FE) college students and grant-aided post-primary school students.

Coleraine man Jamie Hutchinson, who is employed as a technician by TrustFord Coleraine Car and Transit centre, said his time at Northern Regional College gave him the skills and confidence needed to pursue a career as a car mechanic. After leaving school, Jamie did Level 1 Motor Vehicle Maintenance course at the College’s Coleraine campus. He progressed to Level 2 and then completed a Level 3 Motor Vehicle Maintenance Apprenticeship with TrustFord.
