Leaving school after AS levels to go to Northern Regional College to do a BTEC Diploma in Applied Science was a hard decision to make but as it turns out, absolutely the right one, according to Portstewart student Jenna Craig. Jenna, who was a student at the College’s Coleraine campus, completed the Level 3 Extended Diploma with a triple Distinction* - the equivalent of three A*s at A level – and has accepted a place at Ulster University to study Diagnostic Radiography and Imaging.

Luke McIlreavy from Ballymoney, did a HNC in Business at the College’s Coleraine campus before progressing to Ulster University to do a Business Information Systems degree. He is currently on placement with Randox and when he graduates, plans to do a Master’s degree in Software Engineering.

Northern Regional College students Michael Kearney, Rachel-Rose Mallon and Catriona O’Neill all achieved top marks in their Business Studies course at the College’s Magherafelt campus. They were each awarded a triple Distinction* grade in the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business Studies, which is the highest possible grade and is equivalent to three A*s at A-Level.

Stephen Harris, who completed the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport at the College’s Newtownabbey campus with a Distinction* and two Distinctions – the equivalent of three A levels – now plans to do a Coaching degree at Liverpool John Moores University.
