Successful candidates will be able to work as counselling supervisors in a range of job and career opportunities which include but are not limited to –
- A supervisor employed by an agency or organisation that offers individual counselling to adults
- A private supervisor working for an organisation such as wellness/mental health setting
Assessment Methods
Proficient/Not proficient in both internal and external assessment and meet all the qualification requirements including all placement hours to achieve the qualification
Internal assessment – tutor assessment of candidate portfolio evidencing minimum assessment requirements and verified by CPCAB
External assessment - externally assessed case review (3000-3,500 words)
Course Update
Please note that due to ongoing major campus construction projects courses at Ballymena may be relocated to alternative suitable locations as required.
Candidates must have achieved any of the following
Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
Level 5 Psychotherapeutic Counselling Diploma, or
Level 5 Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapeutic Skills and Theory
- And have substantial practitioner experience please see CPCAB Entry requirements
- Supervision work – minimum of 15 hours per week with supervisees
- Supervisory supervision a minimum of 5 hours with a senior /experienced clinical supervisor – either one to one or in a group
- There should also be regular supervision of supervision groups as part of the training course
