For the second consecutive year, a Northern Regional College apprentices have come out on top in the bench joinery category at the CITB NI (The Construction Industry Training Board NI) annual SkillBuild NI finals. Jamie Matthews from Ballyclare, who is in the first year of a Level 3 apprenticeship at the College’s Newtownabbey campus, is employed by leading bespoke joinery company, Mivan in Antrim. He was also Northern Ireland’s top performing competitor in bench joinery last year and went on to qualify for the national finals.
